Christian Botta is a New York City based blues and rock player whose melodic and emotive playing has touched on many styles of music, yet always comes back to the emotion of the blues.Chris got his B.M. at the Mannes College of Music and an M.A. in Musicology from The City College, CUNY, where he wrote his master’s thesis on Jimi Hendrix.
It all started at a neighborhood music center in Forest Hills when he was nine years old. Some stops along the way include Carnegie Hall, CBGB’s, and the blues clubs of London, Copenhagen and Amsterdam. He currently gigs and records with Saints and Sinners, a group that combines high energy and power with soul, imagination and funk. His songwriting reflects the eclecticism born of many years’ listening to a diverse array of rock, blues, jazz, and classical artists and composers.
